Mindfulness is much more than meditation. It is a practice of being in our lives with greater openness and curiosity vs. reactivity and resistance. These trainable skills can be particularly helpful during times of difficulty and can create greater ease and freedom in mind & body.
Mindful practices include meditation, movement, and simple, everyday practices such as eating, listening to music, exploring nature, being with friends and more.
Please join us for this experiential course to discover the benefits for yourself. We will cover the following over 6 weeks through practice and discussion:
-What mindfulness is and what it is not
-How it can change your brain to become less reactive and more at ease
-How to regulate difficult emotions through awareness of the body
-Simple practices that can be easily integrated into daily life.
No experience is necessary. All bodies are welcome. It is great for beginners or a helpful booster for those with experience. All participants will receive user friendly handouts and recorded guided mindfulness practices after each class.
