This 4 week course offering will provide participants with simple yet empowering learning around trauma theory and the impact of trauma on the nervous system as well as tools for grounding in times of activation and anxiety.
Research reveals that about 90% of us will experience a traumatic experience in our lifetime and 6-8% will end up experiencing PTSS (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome). Arguably this past year qualifies as a traumatic experience for many of us as we feel the affects through hypersensitivity in our nervous system and perhaps feelings of fear and anxiety.
In this 4 week workshop we will move mindfully and safely through a series of grounding breath and movement practices designed to help the body/mind/nervous system move toward a greater sense of safety and in this way potentially release and heal from stress and trauma which is stored in the tissues. It is a bottom up approach to healing and wholeness. No experience in yoga or mediation required.
