Amongst her clients at Breathe, including owners and teachers, Tanya is affectionately known as our miracle healer.
As an osteopathic manual practitioner, she uses her hands-on expertise to help patients feel better. Tanya combines a thorough understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, physiology and health sciences with strong intuitive skills and an inquisitive nature. This allows her to recognize how a patient’s unique physical, mental and emotional experiences are affecting their body and their health. The most effective osteopathic treatment begins with the acknowledgment that each person’s condition is unique. As an osteopathic manual practitioner, her goal is to restore balance in the body.
She graduated from Concordia University in Montreal, QC with a bachelor of science in Exercise science in 2001. She is a certified member of the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association. She then completed her studies in Osteopathy at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Montreal in 2009. Tanya successfully completed her thesis in 2011 on the effect of osteopathic treatment on running athletes demonstrating a positive effect on blood glucose availability and performance.
Tanya also works with women, men and children, cases dealing with anxiety and depression, hormonal imbalances and digestive disorders. She has great expertise in treating complex, multi-joint issues.
Tanya practices yoga and is a part of Breathe’s Teacher Training Faculty teaching Basic and Advanced Anatomy.
