Always wanted to try yoga?

This 5 week absolute beginner yoga series is recommended for those new to yoga and for students who wish to establish a solid foundation in this ancient practice. Everyone has the ability to start and flourish in yoga, regardless of age, level of flexibility and physical condition.

Take this opportunity to learn why millions of North Americans have taken up yoga and found it so easy to stick with it. Join other absolute beginners and explore:

  • the foundations of yoga, including standing and sitting postures (asanas)
  • breathing (pranayama)
  • meditation

Each week we will explore a new dimension of the practice including: synchronizing breath to movement, alignment details, muscles used in specific poses, physical benefits of poses.

Some Q&A's About the Yoga Basics Course

What if I can't sign up for the beginner yoga course because of scheduling or other issues?  While we recommend this course for absolute beginners, life sometimes dictates our schedules.  If you cannot enrol in the course we recommend attending  any of our drop-in beginner yoga classes on our schedule for which there is no time commitment, nor do you have to call to sign up -- just drop-in! 

What if the start date of the beginner yoga course is a few weeks away and I'd like to start taking yoga classes immediately?  We recommend coming to any of our beginner drop-in yoga classes before your course starts. 

What if I'd like to do more than one class per week? 

Don't hesitate to come to any of our beginner yoga drop-in classes while you are taking the course.  It will give you an extra workout during the week and also give you the opportunity to practice what you're learning in the course.
