DEEPER BACKBENDS WITH GREATER EASE

 

Backbends offer us a myriad of benefits but can be challenging even for the most advanced yoga practitioner.  With the proper techniques in place, we can achieve a greater sense of comfort and ease in a backbend and access all the glory of a deep backbend.

Backbends help to improve our posture and reverse the negative effects of too much sitting.  They are extremely helpful in strengthening the muscles spine, help open up the chest and shoulders, can help alleviate back pain and are extremely healthy for the heart and brain.  Read other benefits of back bending in this excellent article.

Backbends are accessible to most of us if we have a strong foundation in place.  In this workshop we will breakdown the foundational elements that go into developing a strong and safe backbend, review common misalignment mistakes and explore some simple teachniques to get you into a deeper, happier backbend!
