First things first – the paper work. Save time at reception by setting up your online account and fill out the waiver form here.

Once you have your account all set up, it is highly recommended that you reserve your space in the class you want to come to in order to guarantee your spot in class. Reserve your spot by clicking on the SIGN UP button on the schedule.  You can cancel up to 2 hours before the class without penalty. Then stop by reception to check in at least 5 mins before class to claim your spot

Classes to start with

If you are looking to do more vigorous styles of yoga (Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga) we strongly recommend you begin with our Yoga Basics Workshop regardless of your fitness level. If you cannot do the Basics course, stick to Beginner or Open Level classes.

If you are looking to do more gentle, slower paced classes we recommend Slow Flow, Restorative, Yin classes, or Seniors classes. You are welcome to attend these classes without a Yoga Basics course.

What To Wear

It’s best to wear breathable, comfortable, stretchy tops and bottoms. We do yoga in bare feet so please leave your shoes in our Shoe Shala by reception.

What to Bring

– Yoga mat (if you don’t have one you can borrow one at no charge but having your own is HIGHLY recommended)

– 2 towels (one for yourself + one to cover a bolster often used in classes)

– Water (Glass, ceramic cups and open top bottles are not permitted in the studio – if they break people can cut their feet. But feel free to bring a plastic or metal water bottle with a lid.

How Often to come

FOR FLEXIBILITY, STRENGTH AND OVERALL WELL BEING:

We recommend attending 3 classes per week, spaced 1-2 days apart to allow for recovery when you’re first starting. As you advance you should add one day a week up to 6 days per week with one day rest for optimal health.

FOR WEIGHT LOSS, FITNESS AND STRENGTH: 

5-6 times per week and we recommend that at least one class from the Strength! category be one of them.

 

FOR PEACE OF MIND & MENTAL WELL BEING: 

The well documented anti-depressant and anxiety reducing effects of yoga last about 24 hours, so your mental wellbeing will be greatest with a daily practice.

CHANGE ROOMS AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS: 

There are cubby holes in the change rooms to leave your bulky possessions. We recommend you take your valuables with you into class. Just make sure your phone is off. Leave your foot wear in our Shoe Shala by reception – bare feet only in the studio.

SHOWERS

Both Men’s and Womens’ change rooms have showers. Soap and hairdryer are provided but you’ll need to bring your own towel. Towels may be rented at reception if you forget yours.

 

TEA LOUNGE

Tea and fresh fruit water (weekends) are available in the lounge. Be sure to wash the tea cup you borrow for the next person.

 

TEMPERATURE IN THE STUDIOS:

For regular classes the studios are heated to 27°C; Hot classes are 35°C. The hot studio is heated by Infrared Heat.

BY BIKE:

We have bike racks for Breathe students on the opposite side of the building.

 

BY CAR: PARKING

There is a Green P parking lot on Pacific Ave just south of Dundas St. Some street parking may be found in the vicinity (1 hr Max) but is difficult to find. We recommend the Green P parking. Please do not park in the No Frills or Sweet Potato parking lots as you will be subject to a ticket.

 

BY BUS:

– From Dundas St station, take the 40 Junction Bus and get off at Pacific Ave

– From High Park Station.About a 15-20 min walk on High Park Ave to Dundas St West and go East 2 blocks. Or take the 30 Bus towards Kipling and get off at Dundas St west and walk East 2 blocks.
