Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar yoga is a method of Hatha Yoga which emphasizes the development of self-awareness through precision in movement and attention to the more subtle aspects of posture and breath.  Postures are sequenced in a variety of ways to help to exercise, strengthen and cleanse every system of the body, bringing balance to the whole system.  As the sequence of postures revolves week to week, each class builds and expands on what has been covered in the preceding class, providing an enriching and fertile learning environment for both the student and instructor.  The use of props in Iyengar yoga allows the practice to be adapted to each individual.
